  • How does this picture make you feel? Why do you think that is?
  • Where is this? What clues help you to narrow it down? (e.g. building style, trees, traffic lights – which side of the road?)
  • What time is it?
  • Who is the person?
  • Why can’t she sleep? What’s keeping her awake?
  • How do you think she feels about not being able to sleep?
  • Why did she come outside?
  • Have you ever not been able to sleep?
  • What advice would you give her?

Sometimes, I just can’t sleep. Sometimes, it’s not just because of a bad dream. Sometimes, it’s not just because of a good dream. Sometimes, I just can’t sleep.
I woke up and felt dizzy. My head head hurt so I sat back down. I formally put my clammy hands together and reached out for my water on the side of my table. Once steadied, I stud up and opened my curtains. There I saw, nothing. There was pitch black sky for miles. Sometimes, I just can’t sleep…
